Description:
The Mural Paintings of Thailand Series is a very beautiful series of large sized, 8ΒΌ x 11, hard cover books showing and explaining the best of the temple mural paintings in Thailand. The murals have been photographed in glorious colour, section by section, and next to these colour plates the story being shown is explained in both Thai and English. These books are both collectors pieces and well done academic works.
Phra Thinang Songphanuat, the Royal Ordination Building, was originally in the grounds of the Grand Palace. In 1873, King Rama V after turning 20 years old was ordained into the monkhood and lived in this building. In 1899 it was relocated to Wat Benchamabophit. The King dedicated the building to be the monk's residence and the first abbot lived there.
